Basic British Scones

Always have the urge to bake scones, so I finally did it! * cheers *
It's easy as A B C, everyone can bake c:

Yield around 20 scones ( depending size and thickness )
Prep time : 40 minutes
Baking time : 12 - 15 minutes

Ingredients ;
2 cups / 250g of flour, cake flour preferably but plain flour works well too c:
1 tablespoon / 15g of granulated sugar
4 teaspoons of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/4 cup / 56g of unsalted butter, cold, cubed
2/3 cup / 160ml of whole milk
1 egg
Additional 1 egg, beaten ( egg wash )
2 tablespoons of cranberries or raisins, * optional *

1. Preheat the oven at 200 C / 390 degrees F
2. In a bowl add in flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and whisk until combined.
3. Add cold butter and cut the butter into flour with fingers, until bread crumb like. Or you can use a pastry blender / food processor, and pulse it until fine sands.
4. Transfer into a bowl.
5. Crack an egg into a bowl and beat lightly. Make a well in the centre of the butter-flour mixture. Add in milk and egg mixture. Then fold until moistened.
6. I'm using 2 tablespoons of raisins and stir it until combined. If you're not using any cranberries or raisins just skip this step.
7. Flour generously the work surface.
8. Turn the batter on to the work surface. Pat it out to a round 1 inch thick.
9. Then stamp out rounds with a circle cookie cutter and place on a baking sheet.
10. Brush the tops of the scones with the egg wash.
11. The refrigerate it for around 2mins, let it set and cool. * optional *
12. Bake for 12 - 15 minutes, or until well-risen and golden brown.

I've been wanting to try this cafe for ages, finally i'm here !

The environment there is so warm and fuzzy, mmm, nice place to have coffee and plates of waffle to share with your soul mate, friends and family. It just gave me a kind of homey feeling, makes me wanna stay here forever, smelling the warm scent of coffee brewing.

Overview photo of what i've ordered hehehe c:

Rose Latte ; RM 10.00
It tasted not bad for me, as I love love love floral infused drinks, except lavender * nightmare *
It's pleasantly comfort, the rose aroma is not that strong. You get to taste the scent of rose and bitterness of the coffee at the same time.

Mocha ; RM 8.00

The Classic ; RM 10.00
You can never go wrong with the classic maple syrup and butter waffle.
Everything back to basic, no toppings, no ice cream, just plain old butter and maple syrup, somehow that's how we love it. * fuzzy feeling *
It is crispy at the outside, soft and fluffy inside, it totally can win A&W's waffle.

The Rebecca ; RM 18.00
Rebecca waffle is filled with lots of love. Generous amount of strawberries, blueberries, bananas and topped with Earl Grey ice cream, garnished with almond flakes. Beautiful combination, omg, cannot resist. Even now I'm looking at this picture, writing about it, my tummy kept on grumbling :'(
It seriously tasted so damn good! Especially the Earl Grey ice cream, urgh cannot resist, if only they sell the ice cream it own, I'll definately buy it ever single day!

** Waffles are available only from 12.00pm till 05.00pm ! So plan your visit to avoid disappointments heheh, don't miss out the scrumptious waffles!

The Library Coffee Bar, Sunway Pyramid

Morning peeps!
Mom asked me to have breakfast with her before her badminton competition starts, and she had to fetch my brother to Sunway Pyramid anyway, so why not go there to have breakfast with her before starting my day.

Before reaching Sunway Pyramid, my mom and I scratching our heads to think what to have for breakfast, until we discovered this new coffee bar.

A new coffee place to relax in Sunway Pyramid! YAY! A new place for me and my boyfriend or friends or family to hang out heh!

The Library Coffee Bar in Sunway Pyramid has a wonderfully relaxed set up while being photogenic at the same time. It has great attraction to detail, very cosy and calm.

Credits : The Library Coffee Bar's Facebook Page

At The Library Coffee Bar, they only use 100% ORGANIC COFFEE BEANS. This means no pesticides or other chemically-based solutions are used at all stages of coffee production. The Library Cofee Bar is not your typical and ordinary coffee place, a place that you won't regret to visit!

Mocha Latte

White Chocolate Latte, RM 12.90

Big Breakfast, RM 12.50
The coleslaw is great, sausages, ham, scrambled eggs, waffles urgh basically everything! But if only the waffles are warmer, it will be even better!

I've been craving savoury waffles for so long omg. Do you know bacon + waffles + maple syrup + sunny side up actually goes well together? hehehe. But what's even better than this!

Grilled Chicken Waffles, RM 17.90
Damn, this is the best savoury waffles i've ever had!
The chicken was tender, egg yolk was runny enough, wedges were crunchy omg... ( * o * )
Everything went to well together, mmm mmmm mmmmmmm!

Passion Fruit Pavlova

This mix makes a chewy, marshmallow meringue, which goes perfectly with the cream and passion fruits ( any fruits you like etc strawberry, raspberry and so on ). Layering the cream and fruits gives this beautiful summer dessert a fantastic texture!
If you haven't tried making meringues before, don't be afraid as this mix is a bullet proof, just poor in the icing sugar and egg whites in a mixer and whisk till stiff glossy peaks, add in cornflour, pop in the oven and you're done !

Serves 7 - 8
250g     icing sugar
4           egg whites
2tsp      cornflour
500ml   cream, whipped
5           passion fruit

1. Preheat the oven to 150°c .

2. Line two baking trays with parchment paper / baking sheet.

3. Place the icing sugar and egg whites in a standing mixer and whisk on high for 10minutes until glossy white peaks form.

4. Using a spatula, gently fold in the cornflour.

5. Divide the mixture to small portion between the two baking trays.

6. Bake for 45minutes, remove from the oven and allow it to cool.

7. Assemble the pavlova, spooning some cream onto it, and then add the passion fruit on top of it.

{ Banana Cake }

Don't know what to have tea time and don't wanna buy it from the bakery or the mall?
Why not bake some fresh and sweet banana cake
This is seriously the besttttt banana cake i've ever taste in my life, i'm not bragging. It's healthy, fresh, no preservations, even better than my school canteen's hah.

Let's start with ingredients :

^ and 200g of sour cream *  forgotten to take picture of the sour cream i've used

1. Cut the butter in to little cubes, and the butter should be in room temperature.
2. Add in the butter into a large bowl and get it whisk until soft. You can either use a stand mixer / hand mixer or even by a whisk, but I chose to whisk it using a stand mixer.
3. Add in sugars and whisk it together until light and fluffy.
4. While it's mixing, grate some orange zest and add in with the butter and sugar.
5. Mix it with a medium speed * if you're using stand / hand mixer.
6. Until if gets thick and creamy, you can add in your eggs, one egg at a time.
7. After it's fully combined, mash up the bananas, and add in to your batter together with the sour cream.
8. Mix in up.
9. Sift in the flour and mix it well.
10. Pour it in to your loaf pan or whatever you would like to use. I'm using a glass baking tray.
11. Bake it in the oven with 170`c about 60minutes.
12. Cool it in a wire rack and it's ready to be serve.

22 Random Questions

1. How old would you be if you didn't know how old are you?
1 year old i guess? Cause everything in that age is just so carefree. There's no studies pressure, difficulties. Everything is just happy go lucky.

2. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don't like and like so many things we don't do?
Why? I don't know why too.

3. What is the one thing you'd most like to change about the world?
The way people destroy mother nature. Earth is so important to us, without Earth where would be staying? Without nature, what are we gonna show to our grandchild how amazing this world is. What are we gonna eat to survive? We should all start saving the Earth and mother nature. Start recycling. GO GREEN!

4. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
I would live my life to the fullest, never let small things make me get angry easily. Dress myself like a queen everyday, try different food. Go explore the world whenever I have chance to go. Spend time with my love ones.

5. Are you more worried about doing things right or doing the right things?
Both I guess. I worried about everything. I worried about am i doing things right and doing the right things. I tend to think and worried a lot. I face a lot of problems. Such as, cheer. Whenever I fail my stunt, I tend to think am i doing things right? Am i not strong enough? Am i useless? Am i not helping the stunts enough and all sorts of things.

6. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
Appreciate the childhood life you could have. When you're older, it wont be the same, you're gonna miss it.

7.  What's something you know you do differently than most people?
I try mixing ingredients to make weird food that actually taste good. I actually love how french fries dipped in vanilla ice-cream.. hmm, why does people even think i'm weird?

8. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What's holding you back?
The one thing is, to be carefree, don't have to care about how people look at me. I can't do it. No matter how hard I try to do it, i always fail. I would wan't to try different things like fashion styles, but i'm afraid of people would say i look ugly with it, i look fat with it. I have no confidence for myself.

9. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
    Yes, my fear.

10. If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why?
New York City?  Everyone at there dress up, I love to dress up. But sigh, in Malaysia, there're just few peoples dare to dress up. When they dress up, some aunties/uncles will think we're overdress or sluts or bitches that loves to shopping instead of studying.

11. Why are you, you?
     Because i'm me.

12. Which is worse, when a good friend moves away, or losing touch with a good friend who lives right near you?
I would say, losing touch with a good friend who lives right near you. When a good friend moves away to another country or state, at least we still get to keep in touch. But a good friend who loses touch with you , just feel so sad, everything wouldn't be the same. She/He wont have much time to share their life with you, talk to you, or even maybe forgotten about your existence. I mean, a good friend who gonna moves away, is also sad.

13. What are you most grateful for?
My boyfriend. We go through ups and downs together, he's still there for me, never had given up on me. I've made him disappointed, mad or even sad for so many times, he's still there. I'm grateful for him, being there for me, giving support to me. I may not be the best girlfriend, but i will try to be his best girlfriend he could ever have. Grateful for him, teaching me lessons whenever i did wrong. He taught me a lot. I know sometimes i go super crazy and naive whenever i'm with you, thank you for baring with my attitude and personality. I love you, Qian.

14. Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never able to make new ones?
I would rather lose all of my old memories to be honest. In my memories, there's actually some unhappy things I wanna delete. Example, being slapped by one of my best friends in class, being fooled by my best friends during my 14th birthday, doing some dumb things that I shouldn't do. Think back, I was really a stupid girl... a girl that never use her brain to think.

15. Has your greatest fear ever come true?
      Yes.

16. Do you remember that time 5 years ago when you were extremely upset? Does it really matter now?
Yes. It actually does. If I didn't apologize to them, until today, I wouldn't still be talking to them now. I wouldn't be friends with them.

17. What is your happiest childhood memory? What makes it so special?
Being loved by teachers HAHAH. I don't know what makes it so special actually hah, maybe it's because being loved by teachers actually feel quite awesome during kindergarten days, teach will give us extra lunch snacks!

18. Have you ever been with someone, said nothing, and walked away feeling like you just had the best conversation ever?
      No.

19. If you just won a million dollars, would you quit your job?
No. Although if I really won a million dollars, someday, my million dollars will be finished too right?

20. What is the difference between being alive and truly living?
Being alive is just like, we wake up just because we're still alive, there's no reason to stay alive. We will just go through our routine like how we normally did, without a reason to do it, what God gives us, we'll just take. But truly living is really different. People thank God for giving them another day to stay alive, to live to the fullest. Spend time with their loves one, appreciate life. Explore new things, and not just follow our boring routine. They try to learn new things everyday, make use of time well.

21. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?
I'll do and wear whatever i want to. Wear crop tops even though belly fats are peeking out. Do whatever I want, eat whatever I want. Run around with sports bra and shorts in the park for morning jogs/runs. Kiss passionately with my boyfriend in public places. I would actually dare to sing in public. Want to try be a youtuber, wanna try volging everywhere i go.

22. Decisions are being made right now. The question is : Are you making for yourself, or you letting others make them for you?
      Depends on situation.

White Roses ;

Top // H&M
Skirt // H&M
Fennel // childhood pieces
Shoes // Forever 21

This outfit is actually quite my thing hah, fell in love with it day by day. The fennel checks aka " checker-ed blouse to the hips trend " kinda bring up the black on black to a whole new level. Also adds the outfit some extra colour and if the weather turned colder you can immediately have an extra layer of clothing for you to use it as jacket. Fashionable yet funcional right? ^_^

Hopeless but Hoping ||

Top // H&M
Bodycon Skirt // H&M
Shoes // Forever 21

Let's start off everything with some pinkyness * chuckles *
Lately, i'm in love with neons + bodycon skirt, for no reason lol. It's about out of my comfort zone, but it's not wrong to try and dare to be bold, trying new styles. I'll still keep it a bit more versatile and not too bold hehe.
Bodycon skirt / Blacks + Neons = will never go wrong  ;)

Lucid Dreams ||

Top // Topshop
Skirt // H&M

First time trying such loud and bold colour in my life. Normally, I tend to go on the safe side, wearing what I'm comfortable with, play safe. After wearing this top, I find it actually quite playful, makes me feel happier ^_^
If you're dealing with loud or bright colours but you're still a little on the conservative side like me, stick to the neutrals colours for accessories / shoes / bottoms to tone the look down a bit.

Dip n Dip, Jalan Telawi, Bangsar ||

Hi peeps,
sorry for not posting for a long time. :\
It has been a busy month for me, yet productive.

My besties and I went for a food hunt in Bangsar,
we all been having chocolate cravings in sudden lol, girls.
So, we chose to go for Dip n Dip at Jalan Telawi, Bangsar.

Dip n Dip is a dessert shop specializing in chocolate desserts, if you're a chocolate lover, you should not miss it! Been hearing lots of good reviews about it yet haven't got the chance to try it out until that day, FINALLY!

|| Brownies Crepe ||
The famous chocolate crepe that you can see almost every table ordered it !
It's available in different fillings which is chocolate, cookies, marshmallow etc. Since me and my besties are in love with brownies, of course we'll go for the brownies * teehees *
The portion is big enough to share since it's rich in chocolates! Recommended for 4-5people. The first bite is like, OMGGGG CHOCOLATE + BROWNIES * heaven * . The chocolate was rich but not too sweet, it was just right and yums *\o/*

|| Fondant ||
It's something like chocolate lava cake but not as rich like the usual ones.
The first bite was okay, but the no more you eat, it's starting to get very ewww.
And to be honest, I prefer other restaurant's lava cake, example Vivo's.
If I would like to pay a second visit, I definitely won't order this anymore, it's not worth the price for me.

Overall, it's still a wonderful and pleasant visiting.

I may pay a second visit but with more friends, maybe once a year?
